Mr. Brookhart of Brookhart Law & Mediation is a full time mediator and arbitrator. His mediation and arbitration practice covers a wide array of civil litigation matters across the state of Pennsylvania, including all areas of personal injury litigation, professional negligence matters as well as business and commercial litigation and employment disputes. Mr. Brookhart has received extensive mediation training at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law.
Prior to establishing a full time mediation practice, Brookhart was a partner with the central Pennsylvania law firm of Atlee Hall & Brookhart. He maintained an active trial and litigation practice in the areas of professional negligence, products liability, personal injury and insurance bad faith litigation. Prior to that, Mr. Brookhart was associated with the Pittsburgh law firm of Thorp, Reed & Armstrong where he practiced in the areas of business and commercial litigation, construction litigation, insurance defense and employment law.
He received his B.A. in 1983 with honors from Grove City College and his J.D. in 1986 from Duquesne University School of Law. While at Duquesne, Brookhart served as an editor on the Law Review. He has lectured and written on topics ranging from trial practice to mediation for the Pennsylvania Bar Association and local Bar Associations. He is also involved in numerous local, state and national Alternative Dispute Resolution committees and organizations.
